MEET MIM REVIEWS:
I loved this book from the start. Sandra Severgnini, as both author and illustrator, has created an informative and highly accessible book that has striking illustrations showing considerable detail that perfectly complement the text. The clever title and the front cover are delightful and will appeal to younger readers. The ingenious use of two different maze activities on the front and back endpapers are an added bonus. The Fabulous Facts about Dung Beetles in the final pages are important for those children whose interest is piqued and would love to find out more. Teacher notes are available - The Strawberry Post
Meet Mim abounds with captivating illustrations as the reader embarks on an undersea journey to discover and learn about this incredible sea creature called Mim, a mimic octopus. Severgnini’s interest in the natural world, and in this instance the ocean, is an educational experience including the detail provided in the illustrations. Fascinated by the magic of the natural world Severgnini’s word choice gives rise to rich visualisation and adds sensitivity and humour to her illustrations. This picture book promises to delight young and older readers alike - Reading Time
GRUB REVIEWS:
Alongside beautiful illustrations depicting both the rainforest floor and its exotic flora and fauna, this story also contains the gentle rhythm of line repetition to build up anticipation in the reader. - DIMITY POWELL
Whatever you do, read this book! Read it, then read it to your friends, then read it to any child nearby. GRUB is a brilliant picture book, and an excellent work in literature. The illustrations and the text meld beautifully to absorb the reader both visually and aurally.
The end pages, as with most of the double page spreads, lure your eyes to the wonderfully detailed drawings. When Grub is young, you will have to search for him beneath the tree canopy and in the old rotten log. As he grows, he is more recognisable. He is aware that his body will change, but what will he become?
The artwork is immaculate, detailed, and enticing. It enhances the text. The text is a large size for younger readers and is never compromised by the pictures. I am sure we will see this book nominated and short listed for awards. Congratulations Sandra on a fabulous book.- BLUE WOLF REVIEWS

A Christmas story told with lyrical rhyme and whimsical illustration, ‘The Christmas Garden’ is reminiscent of the classic ‘The Night Before Christmas’. It takes children on a garden adventure filled with Christmas trees, reindeer, elves and of course, Santa Claus. It’s a celebration of Christmas, the beauty in nature and the power of imagination..

Wow. Oh, wow. And wow! Congratulations on a job better than well done. Your illustrations for In the Shadow of an Elephant are outstanding. They bring so much to the story and do exactly what illustrations should do because they add their own layers to the work. I hope this book is placed in school and public libraries all over the world so readers of all ages can appreciate the excellent story and the wonderful art that brings it to life.
Emma, thank you so much for taking the time to leave feedback and your generous comments for In The Shadow Of An Elephant. It was certainly a special story to illustrate and we were thrilled to receive a finalist place in the 2019 International Book Awards. 😁
Hi there Sandra
I have today reviewed your latest book, Tree Beings, and wanted to tell you how impressed I was with your illustrations. There are simply wonderful, especially your double-page spreads for each section of the book which are absolute works of art. You also draw and paint people brilliantly, which many illustrators are not so proficient at. I truly hope that Tree Beings wins the CBCA Book of the Year for non-fiction. It ought to! I also hope that it finds a huge readership as it’s a comprehensive book about the great value trees are in our world. Please feel free to pass my praise on to Raymond Huber and EK Books.

Thank you so much for your glowing compliment Di and taking the time to message, it means a lot! I was grateful I had the chance to illustrate it as trees, the environment and especially animals are subjects very important to me (and should be to all). Raymond and all involved were inspirational to work with and hopefully the enthusiasm shows in the finished book. 🙂
Hi Sandra! Dr Dain Heer shared Tree Beings on his Access Consciousness facebook page and though i haven’t had the privilege to hold the book closely i can see the illustrations are a joy to behold. I’m inspired as i consider a billboard project in honour of trees. What would it take to reproduce your artwork on that scale? Pure dreaming and spontaneous messaging here! Are you based in Australia??
Cheers,
Liz
Thank you for your interest in my illustrations Liz, it is a lovely compliment. Unfortunately the publisher holds the rights to the illustrations for the term of the book publishing. I am based in Australia and the publisher is New Zealand based. It may be worth your time to enquire direct with the publisher and find out their point of view on using the illustrations in your billboard project. Kind regards Sandra
You are just brilliant..
Thank you kindly Radar!
